LOL. Years back, during the Cold War, or thereabouts, my husband's grandfather built a shelter underground. This was near his home in small-town British Columbia. I was never inside, but I found a newspaper article about it. I wish, for posterity, that I had a copy of the plans.

And we're back here again

I do family record keeping. I would love to know what Paul's grandmother thought of this. Grandpa seems to have been quite the character

For clarity, I asked the facetious question in response to this: And we're back here again.

But yes,I can imagine Grandma often gave the side eye!

OMG! Jaye, was this in Nelson, BC? I went there this summer and actually visited the bunker...it was eerie but VERY interesting at the same time....

The bunker life might not work out too well. The people who build them and staff them have no reason to remain loyal, in a genuine catastrophe, and every reason to see how well billionaires function when they're being tortured.

Indeed! What a glimpse into the deluded minds of the "elites."

You know, I was interested decades ago in the whole "intentional community" thing. Figured our species is going to Hell in a handbasket (as it were), & why not get out early & live independently of all the madness? Well. That never quite came to pass, & the why of it would take an age to explain. But no need. The whole idea of being around when the shit has REALLY hit the fan, & every morsel of food has to be defended by the barrel of a gun? Pass, thanks. My current thinking is this: let's just make the best of things NOW. Stay human. Be kind. When it's time to go? It's time to go. The rich can have their damn bunkers. Who would want to live that way???

Amen, Janet! We're getting deceived into thinking that the parasites are the only ones who can decide how the future goes.
