When we look up (at least, according to the “science” of men), our minds are calmer. When our gaze rises up, we become more creative, mindful, and resourceful. Our eye position impacts our nervous system — for better or for worse.

God made us to turn to Him whenever we need help. To facilitate this dynamic, He made us feel better when we look up. Therefore, I urge all of you here today:

If you are feeling down, look up.

We all have prayer requests, many of which involve very serious personal situations. However, let’s always remember to petition the LORD on behalf of others who need support. 

In addition to the prayer requests mentioned here, please stay attentive to those moments when someone you know unexpectedly comes to mind. Use that as a prompt to pray for them immediately. The Holy Spirit is speaking to you. 

FYI: Each week, I compile a hand-written list of all your requests and bring it to the Eucharistic Chapel at the nearby Catholic Church (see photo below). I pray for all of you and then place the list in the chapel's prayer box, where your requests are prayed for privately, yet directly, as part of specific Masses.

Thank you, everyone, for dedicating time and energy to creating a better, more positive, and accepting world.

You are not alone. I look forward to praying for and with you and hope you’re also in each other’s prayers.
