what valuable lesson would people of the digital age have for folks in the past?
(there are very few lessons and "advancements" worth the effort)
I’ve seen this meme ^ circulating for years and makes me chuckle every time. After all, if I transported myself back in time, that would be me.
I could regale the masses with tales about electricity, computers, televisions, phones, cameras, planes, trains, and automobiles. But if asked to explain any of these “advancements,” I’d be stuck.
Even if I had “scientific” knowledge, I’d lack access to the resources to prove it. I’d be laughed out of town — or worse.
So, what useful, applicable lesson could I bring back from 2025?
I’d tell them about the political and economic systems invented to enrich a handful of the most diabolical humans who ever lived, and brutal, immoral wars are fought to serve those insatiable criminals.
My audience would hear true stories of children trafficked and women exploited; animals degraded and tortured while the ecosystem is ravaged and poisoned. Humans everywhere are forced to dwell in poverty, disease, violence, and fear.
Those discoveries and inventions I mentioned above that I couldn’t adequately explain? They’d be added to my dissertation to demonstrate how a wicked few profit while almost everyone else is manipulated into false, bloody rivalries by such “advancements.”
I would warn them about how evil has become casually normalized and in my time, the ways of the flesh are glorified and worshipped — more than ever before.
Surely, my audience would want to know how this nightmare came to be. That’s when I’d finally share a lesson.
I’d point them to Deuteronomy 28:15-68 to remind them what God promised would happen if we ignored His will and insisted on living as sinners.
Again, it’s right here, folks.
We were clearly and directly warned… but our anxious egos still got the better of us.
I’d imagine many would ask how they might avoid such a vile fate so I’d be ready to hit them with Deuteronomy 28:1-14 next.
Here’s just a sampling:
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all His commands, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:
You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock — the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.
You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
(Please read the full verses.)
The people of the past would not need sneak previews of nuclear weapons, self-driving cars, or mRNA “vaccines.”
They would need prophecy and prayers, as well as the discernment and courage to accomplish what the people of the Old Testament did not.
Only then could they experience divine mercy and thereby inherit the land.
Spoiler alert: No one needs to go back in time to make this happen. We can individually and collectively decide — right now — to walk the narrow path.

I love that, when asked what you'd do if you could time travel, your answer is "preach the gospel" 🥰
Didn't the serpent tell Eve that eating the forbidden fruit would make them like God? Apparently we've forgotten how that turned out
