Yes, of course, New York City has been quite disappointing for the past four years. Ongoing mask worship, vax mandates, BLM riots, migrant fever, DEI, and all that. As a result, New Yorkers were effectively primed for the next thing: The National Guard (and bag searches) in the subway.
That angry old guy in Washington and the dangerous harpies around him have been telling us what they are doing and will continue to do. We have been beyond fear for many years. Fear got many to take their fake medicine in 2021 while I and millions of other dissidents avoided it. We are a committed army now and we aren't stopping.
I would give the same advice like I gave to several Californians. Get out of there. But of course if this is your home it is easier said than done. If the ethnic Russians had left Ukraine they would be safe and sound. What though if you have land hone and business there?

I appreciate that concern. I have been working toward simplicity and freedom from entanglements for many years so I would have the flexibility to be mobile. I would sell anything I own in a hostile area and buy land in a safer zone. Get your money out of the larger corporate banks and use small regional banks or credit unions. Get out of the medical system except for emergencies. Certainly, get your kids out of public schools if you have children. The idea is not to run away but to collapse the old guard via non-participation while building new nations.
I think the idea was to get away from the grip of the powers that should not be. Just like they ignored our wish to stop the time change (excuse: they have more urgent things to do - that are OUR representatives and we voted 2 years ago to stop the change!) I don't think it is really fear for me, as annoyance, mostly with all the people who keep on going along with the govt. If you live in a neighborhood where you can't talk to anyone anymore, I think that is the top of annoyances! Even here in rural GA it is getting difficult to find like minded people, and the few that are there are loners, not people who tend to socialize a lot. Sometimes there is no choice, the stock market is the stock market - and the medical system I indeed only use for emergencies. But you still have to take insurance or you will pay the price later. If they are left with nothing but the illegal immigrants they have imported in NYC, how are they going to cope? Once the whole building collapses and we get rid of these wokesters, we can go back to what whould be. I think that is what Paving is trying to say?

amen. I lived in NYC most of my adult life, rode subways at all hours, lived in "iffy" (to some) neighborhoods, and very rarely felt afraid. I'd be more afraid of the Nat Guard stopping me than anyone I would have encountered in NY, even in the "bad old days" of the 80s.
That NY governor, like the CA governor, is following a satanic WEF plutocrat playbook, and it seems the best way to stop it is to question it, and everything, and perhaps file a lawsuit against her unconstitutional imposition of federal troops on the people of NYC. Thanks Mickey - great points.

This is a far more measured reply but you say, "the idea is not to run away" right after you said "Get out of New York while you can."
