what would happen if everyone stayed home and did not vote? the powers that should not be will put in the house whomever they want anyway. Loss of time! I wonder if there ever has been a president who really had power. Yes, change can only come from within. Like Ghandi and King - protest by not protesting but be a live protest.
What I would caution about mentioning MLK or Gandhi is this: We can learn from some of their efforts but avoid the human tendency to slide into cultic behaviors. No single human will be the answer.
