I don’t need to hear back from you every time I comment, Mickey. Put the time into earning your living and taking care of New York’s homeless women first. Then, if time allows, you can visit with us. I can’t speak for everyone here, but I like what you have to say, and I enjoy being engaged with others who feel the same. I pay for your content because it is of value to me.
Do what you gotta! You tend to this 'stack with far greater attention than most others I've read. It keeps the tone very high but it must be so labour intense!
A timely adjustment as the balancing moment of Autumn Equinox is in the wings (2:50 am ET)!🍁Happy Fall, Mickey! I wish you all the best as you do what you need & want to! 🌻
your substack is like your house. If someone comes in with muddy shoes, you have all the right to ask to take their shoes off. And indeed, it is like a hobby - you can spend time on it, but first bread on the table! Looking forward to anything you post, I am not a podcast person but I am sure some are - something for everyone ! thank you for doing what you do !
I too have been absent taking care of life and getting behind on reading and commenting. I love your content even though I don’t take time to comment as much. Balance is key, I think we are all trying to find that sweet spot of balance. Carry on, friend; carry on. ❤️
Thanks always for your efforts Mickey and I like the idea of being more far-ranging in your writing too - and doing somewhat less makes sense - Your stuff is great, and on the other hand, the times we are in are so tumultuous, I always feel like I'm trying to drink from a firehose, with at least 20 substack subscriptions, etc. - Important to get away from the computer from time to time!!!
I would prefer it if you did return to allowing non-paying subscribers to post comments! I'm unable to financially support anywhere near the # of Substack writers I'd like to, being a senior on a fixed income, living in expensive Toronto (I know; everywhere is expensive these daze). In any case, I enjoy being able to comment on the posts of writers I haven't paid. I see oodles of great comments on many S-stacks - these are like real conversations, & one can learn a lot. As for your spending less time on S-stack & more on other things, you gotta do what you gotta do. We all do!!!
This makes good sense. Your substack is largely an altruistic project. All sorts of constraints apply if it's going to be sustainable.
Thank you, my friend. I appreciate the understanding and support.
For the record, I'm not sure how altruistic is was that I started this Substack with the goal of making it a lucrative venture!

Agree.

Thank you, Jaye! And yes, I take responsibility seriously but I shouldn't do so at the expense of balance. I truly appreciate your support.

Thank you, Malika, and Happy Fall! I'm so happy you found my Substack! 🍁

Thank you, as always, for understanding, Ingrid. You're SO supportive!
just being human Mickey - several people have forgotten how to do that !
Yes, but you lead by example, my friend. Thank you.
These are sensible, reasonable changes, particularly if it can help to bring a bit more balance into your daily routine (and reduce the eye strain!).
Thank you for understanding and supporting, Claire. I so appreciate you upgrading your subscription.

Thank you, Mary! This means so much to me and I trust you are closer than ever to finding that sweet spot. ❤️
The only constant is change. You'll probably get this sonic joke: https://soundcloud.com/micropixie/goenka-bowie

Thank YOU, my friend! And wow...I truly relate to the drinking from a firehouse metaphor. Thanks for being along for the ride here since the start.
