People love servitude. Otherwise they would not go from the independence of their own farm or even their own herd of animals to work in factory for a boss. Workers specially in the US are little more than slaves. Gotta love Huxley. Prophet

It is in fact very hard to be independent. Films on YouTube show the hard life of Nepalese nomads. They end up going to the city expecting an easier way of living. But there is no certainty there either and they can't go back. The wife cried for the loss of animals. She correctly grasped they provided in all their needs whereas in town they are in the claws of others

And many people are FORCED to go into cities, such as the Mongolians who prefer their nomadic life. Thailand was trying to force the boat people -- they live on their boats and still think in pre-conquest terms (no lying, no sense of time, attachment to each other) -- to settle down.

About taxation, whenever the US government wants to do something horrible, they just print the money and spend it. Sometimes the Fed buys the debt and then rebates the interest. And most times oligarchs directly get a sweetheart deal, plus the interest/vigorish. It would be entirely possible to print and spend—no Fed, no oligarchs—on things that generate broad prosperity. That would be transitional rather than fully revolutionary, but a nice step nevertheless (assuming the spending was wise).

I thought that fairly accurate, fun, lol Linklater film about youth culture in the 70's got cancelled for not being woke or for being white supremacist or something? Good to see the AI hasn't cancelled it yet.

What's weird is that people seem to think the Grammys were ever for good music, when in fact it should always have been bulldozed into the ocean. Next to the Academy Awards.

But then I'm a metalhead, so my taste is suspect.
