This is such a sad story. I cried. Poor child. 😔 The world has become a cruel and ruthless place. 💔

Thanks, DG. 😔 And yes, it's quite challenging to comprehend the arc of Laura's story. Even so, while the world has its share of cruelty and ruthlessness, I believe it features far more that is positive, wondrous, and uplifting.

beautiful tribute to this poor girl! her story makes me think of Vincent Van Gogh. Famous after death, after living a life in poverty and misery. Thank you for shining a light on her.

This made sad and happy. I may be out of place but what did she die of? And what about her burial? Rest in peace dear young sweet soul.

Thank you, Sophia.

As far as I can ascertain, arrangements were made through some relatives in New Jersey and the little I know about her death was mentioned here: https://mickeyz.substack.com/p/laura-the-artist-rip

Thank you so much, Laura! 🙏 I share this in her honor, of course, but also to remind folks of how powerful they are. We are each walking around - fearfully and wonderfully made - with the ability to change people's lives for the better.

Very nice to read this at a time when we are seeing so much narcissism and greed creating the potential of our earth no longer being the home it was created for humans and all living things. Scary to consider that at some point we could all become homeless. Our only chance to sustain ourselves is to cultivate and practice empathy - in other words follow the golden rule, something that you Mickey are following and teaching by example. Thanks so much 🙏

Laura’s beautiful soul shines through in her artwork and her words. It was more than coincidence that your paths crossed and that the encounter soon brought forth a positive change in Laura’s life journey. She has touched many souls. Thank you for caring and giving to those who may otherwise be unnoticed. I’m deeply grateful you shared her story ❤️🙏

Her passing on the same date that you posted her success story. Coincidence? Not to my thinking. Your encounter with Laura D.; one of many over a lifetime. It's mind-boggling to think of the intricate network that connects us to one another and to God through charity (love as 'care').

Thank you so much, GLW! In terms of gift cards, they're all helpful but I know Arby's would be appreciated by one particular person. As for other stuff, socks and hand wipes would be awesome. Thank you again and God bless!
