A nice change from their usual cozy relationship with the CIA.

I'm embarrassed to admit I know so little about history. Thank you for bringing these interesting and important nuggets to us. It finally occurred to me a while back that our "education" system DELIBERATELTY makes history boring, disjointed and seemingly irrelevant to our lives BY DESIGN. True history is far from boring; it's fascinating! They try to make history irrelevant and confusing, so we never delve deeper into it and develop a true understanding. As they always say, "knowledge is power" and they try to disarm us whenever they can.

You're most welcome, Laura! And I concur. The way history is taught is not an accident and that's one of the many reasons I skipped college and chose self-education.

Yeah! I wish I would have listened to my dad and skipped college. I would have saved myself thousands of dollars, a lot of headaches and I would have actually got a real education by LIVING LIFE! I felt dumber after I graduated - LOL!!!

History is the thread that connects us all together :-)

I have plenty of choices I regret too, Laura. What feels important is that both of us are working hard to make better choices now!

Cesar Chavez: a great union leader. Thank you for posting this Mickey and reminding us of his important work. I grew up in the Napa Valley. The workers who pick the grapes are rarely given credit or paid adequately for the great wines made there. But it wouldn't be possible without them.

I get annoyed when I speak with people and they seemingly have no realization that those "illegal aliens" (there are NO illegal people!) are picking / processing the food they eat.

He was opposed to the bracero program, which legally imported cheap, disposable labor from Mexico at the expense of American citizens (of Mexican and other origins) who had been working in the fields.

He was against illegal immigration for the same reason. He would be furious at this open border sex trafficking, child trafficking and drug trafficking under this regime.
