I know that look, by the way. It's very old school. I've got a few facial expressions to reassure nervous normies, too. They're hard to describe, but if you know, you know.
What a fun NYC moment. One of his many children went to the same school as our child. They both have special needs. He and his wife at the time( how many wives did/does he have...lol) were at a fundraiser we attended to raise money for an organization that helps find employment for adults with learning differences. While up at the podium with his martini in hand dropped so many F - Bombs. I thought to myself, well that was totally unnecessary! Not sure what others thought. Love your NY stories, Mickey.
Thank YOU and right back at ya with that fun story! You know, the more I see of DeNiro off-screen, the less impressive his acting is to me. He seems to be playing himself quite often.
Thank you, as always, dear Malika! And yes, before smartphones became ubiquitous, most New Yorkers read books or newspapers on the subway - even when they belonged to someone else!
I always find it heartbreaking to think John Cazale was dying as Deer Hunter was filmed. He appeared in 5 movies and all of them were nominated for Best Film Oscars.
That was a fun ride 😄 Thanks for letting us tag along!
You talkin' to me?
🤣 You’re the only one here!
🤣
Great post! I got an appreciative laugh with every link.

Thank you, my friend! And so precisely stated: If you know, you know. ✊
Brought back memories from living in Bay Ridge in the early 90’s.
Thank you!
Thank YOU, Rosalind! 🙂

Agreed, Mickey.
So fun! I love how you re-named him with his movie monikers every time:)! (I also love the gal in the 1st pic reading OPB -Other People's Books).

I luv it. I miss the days of catching headlines while others held up newspapers on the bus!
Same!
In fact, I wrote something about this - that involved my own writing!

This is so cool. Thank you for sharing. (I navigate "double-life" moments and align with others in unlikely spaces as well)!
