Worship Wednesday #78
“Where two or more are gathered together in My name...”
Numbers 21:6-9
Then the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. So the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and against you; intercede with the Lord, that He will remove the serpents from us.” And Moses interceded for the people.
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and put it on a flagpole; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, and looks at it, will live.” So Moses made a bronze serpent and put it on the flagpole; and it came about that if a serpent bit someone, and he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
It’s so much easier to understand and learn from the New Testament when you recognize how interwoven it is within the Old Testament. For example, in the verses above, we witness a presaging of Christ. God’s people are told to look up at something hanging above them to find the mercy and healing they need.
For everyone praying with us today, please also consider that God doesn’t always take away the threats. But He provides a clear path to safety amidst the struggles.
Now, let’s get to this week’s Worship Wednesday…
To simplify this weekly concept: Your prayer requests and praise reports are 100% welcome!
Who and what are you praying for? How can we help?
Which prayers of yours have been answered? Please share some good news!
Thank you for this week’s prayer requests, praise reports, and love…
“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.” (1 Timothy: 1)
We all have prayer requests, many of which involve very serious personal situations. However, let’s always remember to petition the LORD on behalf of others who need support.
In addition to the prayer requests mentioned here, please stay attentive to those moments when someone you know unexpectedly comes to mind. Use that as a prompt to pray for them immediately. The Holy Spirit is speaking to you.
FYI: Each week, I compile handwritten lists of all your requests and bring them to the Eucharistic Chapel at the nearby Catholic Church (see photo below). I pray for all of you and then place the list in the chapel’s prayer box, where your requests are prayed for privately yet directly as part of specific Masses.
Thank you, everyone, for dedicating time and energy to creating a better, more positive, and accepting world.
You are not alone. I look forward to praying for and with you and hope you’re also in each other’s prayers.
May the rest of your life be the best of your life…

Hi all. I have a witness and two requests today. First, for my close family member in crisis, a witness. He’s safe. By God’s will, by his own relationship with God, he holds on every day. He’s struggling but he’s safe. The turning point for him is getting real sleep. He has not slept well in almost 20 years. Stable health is not possible without sleep. Simply pray for sleep of the life changing kind. My second request is for my great niece and nephew and their family. Their father who had a lifelong struggle with addiction died last Wednesday under suspicious circumstances. He’s the second of 3 sons to have ended this way, so please pray for his mother. His children are the ages me and my siblings were when our mother was killed by a drunk driver. I literally feel the pain and shock in their little hearts. They need solace and family around them. Thank you.
Good morning to all. My friend, Sean, who I have requested prayers for on recent Wednesdays entered hospice two days ago. He hopes to make it through the holidays. His young son is struggling with his father's condition. Prayers for both Sean and his son are appreciated. Thank you.
