Worship Wednesday #103
“Where two or more are gathered together in My name...”
It can sometimes feel confusing or daunting when we pray — especially in times of urgency. We overthink it and convince ourselves that we must say the “right” words (and many of them) to be heard and answered.
Meanwhile, Jesus was quite clear, urging us, “When you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words” (Matthew 6:7).
Simple, direct, honest, and rooted in ever-increasing faith is certainly more important than verbose poeticism or dictatorial rigidity.
Yes, different groups have their traditional prayers, but this does not rule out our freedom to speak authentically with God.
To me, God is not like some kind of Marine drill sergeant. Trust Him to accept and approve you when you approach Him as your truest self. When you inevitably need guidance, well…that’s why He placed the Holy Spirit inside you.
Now, let’s get to this week’s Worship Wednesday…
FYI: Alicen has returned to my home (Ed will join her in Arizona very soon). Jupi’s reunion with her Mama was emotional to behold. Below is one photo for now; I’ll share more details in a post soon.
Thank you for all your prayers!
To simplify this weekly concept: Your prayer requests and praise reports are 100% welcome!
Who and what are you praying for? How can we help?
Which prayers of yours have been answered? Please share some good news!
Thank you for this week’s prayer requests, praise reports, and love…
“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.” (1 Timothy: 1)
We all have prayer requests, many of which involve very serious personal situations. However, let’s always remember to petition the LORD on behalf of others who need support.
In addition to the prayer requests mentioned here, please stay attentive to those moments when someone you know unexpectedly comes to mind. Use that as a prompt to pray for them immediately. The Holy Spirit is speaking to you.
FYI: Each week, I compile handwritten lists of all your requests and bring them to the Eucharistic Chapel at the nearby Catholic Church (see photo below). I pray for all of you and then place the list in the chapel’s prayer box, where your requests are prayed for privately yet directly as part of specific Masses.
“And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” (1 John 5:14)
Thank you, everyone, for dedicating time and energy to creating a better, more positive, and accepting world.
You are not alone. I look forward to praying for and with you and hope you’re also in each other’s prayers.
May the rest of your life be the best of your life…
