I agree very interesting discussion. And I love me some LP he was gifted with a voice from angles . But when I want to hear god sing I just throw on some JC , turn it up loud and just listen. It reminds me that God does have a voice and that he truly loves us.
Thank you, James...for the introduction of Mr. Cash to this thread. I'm deeply moved by your description of the role JC plays in your life. Bless you for that. 🙏
For me, Johnny Cash feels like an Old Testament prophet or perhaps John the Baptist.
While this wouldn’t fall into the vocalist category, and because I listen to mostly instrumental, there are many musicians in the spiritual jazz genre whose music resonates deep within my soul. At the top I’d put John Coltrane and especially the LP ‘A Love Supreme’.
Amen, Claire, for this addition. Coltrane surely had his demons but there is no denying that he heard a calling that he struggled to obey. "A Love Supreme" endures! 🙏 🎷
What an interesting discussion! CS Lewis in the Narnia books talks of Aslan singing creation into existance. I will have to think about this.
Thank you, Jaye, I look forward to hearing your further thoughts!
I believe the Vedics believe that as well that we brought into existence through sound, it's why they say the international sound of God is OM.

P.S. You caused me to remember an old collaboration between Cash and U2 called "The Wanderer": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-dZvQxYX1g
Interesting. I must ask my eldest daughter, a JC fan, what she thinks of that characterization!
Ave Maria indeed🙏
🙏
I like the thought of this. Our mail carrier listens to opera on his route. He seems so peaceful. I'll have to ask him about this
Please do! But what about you? Have you ever pondered what God's singing voice might sound like and impact you?
Short answer is no, but i will be going forward . I am a music fan and pass great music around with friends
I have been thinking about other music and how far from God it is. I am moving that out of my lifestyle.
Thank you for prompting this consideration
I feel this, my friend: I have been thinking about other music and how far from God it is. I am moving that out of my lifestyle.
