I am trying for less distraction. Pay attention to what I can affect and ignore the rest. I actually walked out of a convo the other day. Hubby and I were meeting friends we hadn't seen in awhile. Talk immediately went to US politics, and I knew it would get wound up fast. I said I had promised myself not to spend energy on this. No one slowed down. I sat quietly for a minute, then got up to "use the ladies' room". They were still at it when I got back but I'd missed most of it.
