Thank you, Kathleen! And I've tried to get CAF on the show. I don't want to tell tales out of school so I'll just say this: the process of dealing with her staff was not smooth.
Mickey, good morning and thanks for the fabulous line up of smiles and musings, so pithy and worthy. So many of these should be in the Sunday morning church bulletins, everywhere. Especially the one of the toddler, holding up their scribbles “I want to help too! I want to say something important”. Indeed, I wish that such visuals had been shared and understood months ago, so to be spared deep regrets, that any churches bowed to the commands. Know there will be suffering, if not already, very soon as well, in choirs, coffee fellowships and Wednesday prayer meetings. So sorry.
See Bono and Kill Bill Gates of Hell together made me sick. A long time ago I admired the great philanthropath until I learned what a self serving creep he is. And I was a big U2 fan up until 2020 when it was apparent Bono was pushing the covidiot agenda along with all the rest of the globalist crap. Everything is so clear now. And I can’t listen to their music knowing that he’s gone from being a working class hero from the north end of Dublin to a shill for the billionaire elites.
I hear you. I loved U2 in my youth but eventually, I lost interest as their music faded and Bono the globalist emerged. Since 2020, I've also lost my interest in listening to artists like Dave Grohl, Rage Against the Machine, and more.
Thank the gods I never admired Bill Gates. That POS of a senator we have -- Angus King, or King Anus -- stood up at a foster kids' gathering and was admiring of Gates. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the foster child who got up after him and said, "Not ALL of us admire Bill Gates!" Words of truth from a teenager, a mouthful of lies from a gangster.
I couldn't agree more, Cindy. I adore him and I only truly discovered him when the documentary came out in 2018.
I'm sure we have many like him today but not yet in the public eye.
P.S. If you can, check out the 2019 limited podcast series called "Finding Fred" and your esteem for him for elevate to new levels. Also, there's a book called "I'm Proud Of You" by tim Madigan that I read once a year.
thanks, yes, I don't really know that much about him, but my children watched his show and "kind" is his descriptor for me. That's so rare.
Yes, I do know kind people, but it's hard to be kind these days. Quick story. I was riding my bike, and I use it for shopping, so I have panniers and a rack and I carry bungee cords. I saw a homeless man struggling to hook all of his stuff onto a trailer he was pulling, so I offered him some cords. He said, "no, thanks, some gifts are good and some gifts are bad, even though I need them, I am not taking them. I like your bike, though." Now, I give homeless people more space for being assholes than other people. But he was so rude to me like I was offereing him my morning shit. I wasn't trying to be kind, I was trying to help a fellow traveler.
Yep, I've done a fair amount of work in the homeless community in my life and I've learned that homeless men can be a challenge. That's why my project centers on homeless women.
Homeless black men in NYC were always very polite and kind to me, but I think they were alcoholics / drug addicts rather than mentally ill in a traditional sense.
On an everyday, ordinary level so many people are kind to me and interestingly young males -- who have apparently been taught by their parents to be polite -- are often the ones who open and hold doors for me as I hobble through. People are getting ruder in Maine, particularly men behind the wheel in big trucks, but there are still many considerate, thoughtful people.
Love those.
Have you seen this recent CAF? Would love to see you interview her!

Got it. Interesting. Still think it would be a really good conversation. :-)
I concur and I have not given up. Thanks again, K!
👍
Thank you, Mickey Z
You and your writings are a treasure! ♥️🙌❤️🩹
Thank you, so much, for your kind words! 🙂

Thank you, Sharon. I trust that more people will open their hearts... 🙂

Doesn't Fred Rogers seem like an ehereal being from a kinder dimension?
Just that one little gesture was monumentally important for the larger zeitgeist.
Do we have any Fred Rogers today?

Goddammit, every time I see a Fred Rogers anecdote it makes me cry. I didn't even like his show as a kid.
Check out the "Finding Fred" podcast!
I hate crying tho
You made me laugh! My nephews LOVED Mr Rogers, probably because he was as unlike their parents as possible!
