When we moved into this house I often glanced some grey long hair. I asked the former owner about a possible cat ghost and my description fit the cat they had at the time. My yard is a graveyard for all the half strays passing through. They are not gone. They are now cat Angels. Even though I have a dog I adore.

Mick, I saw Al Stewart, in NJ, in a somewhat newly constructed Theatre, somewhere near down by the Jersey shore.

It was a small theatre, designed specifically for its acoustics.

It was a great night of Al's Music. & Of course, he played Year of The Cat !

I LOVE that you love cats!! We have two very loved kitties (Jordan who is 15 and Luckee Lou who is 13)...Iโ€™m convinced they have healed my soul many times over the years! Thought you might enjoy this:

THE MISSION OF A CAT

"Most people think that cats do nothing, are lazy and do nothing but eat and sleep ...

It is not so!

Do you know what a cat's mission is?

All cats have the power, every day, to remove the negative energy accumulated in our body ... as soon as we fall asleep, they absorb that energy. If there is more than one person in the family, and only one cat, it can accumulate an excessive amount of negativity by absorbing energy from so many people ... When they sleep, the cat's body releases the negativity it takes away from us.

If we are too stressed, they may not have enough time to release all that negative energy, and so, as a result, it accumulates as fat, until they can release it.

It is nice to have more than one cat in the house, so that the weight is divided between them.

They also protect us during the night, so that no unwanted spirits enter our house or our room while we sleep ... That's why they like to sleep in our bed.

And if they think we're fine, they won't sleep with us.

If there was something strange around us, they jump into our bed and protect us ...

If a person comes to our house, and the cats feel that that person is there to harm us or that he is bad, the cats surround us to "protect" us ...

If you don't have cats, and a stray cat comes into your house and adopts it as a home, it's because you need a cat at that particular time ... So the stray cat volunteered to help you.

Thank the cat for choosing your home for that job.

If you have other cats and can't keep the stray cat, find a place for him.

The cat came for a reason unknown to us on a physical level, and in dreams you can see the reason for the appearance of the cat at that moment.

There may be a debt, some karma he has to pay ... "So don't freak out or frighten the cat."

Well, "he" will have to come back, one way or another, to fulfill this obligation ...

Cats heal us

Cats are adorable creatures, and they love their owners above all else, but they have a different way of loving ...

Their love is true, so don't doubt it.They are our great and true friends and above all good companions!

Itโ€™s all about frequency, Mickey. A cats purr is a healing frequency in my experience. And of course they are magic, they remember being gods and goddesses in Egypt so long ago! I have had a variety of cats through my life, but my true โ€œfamiliarโ€ was Freya, a large grey tabby. She passed many years ago, but still chooses to hang around as I see and hear her often. โค๏ธ Blessed are those who commune with cats. ๐Ÿค—

Am so glad you brought this up. My cat Kimba was born in Michigan, in Ypsilanti, and was a very great cat. She was a small Maine Coon cat, and lived for 20+ years. She and I and my mom travelled across the country to Oregon, when she was about 10 and she lived close to a dozen more after we got here. I consider her my longest love relationship. After she passed, I would see her all over the house, in a pile of clothes, here and there. It gradually faded, but happened for a few years indeed. There seems to be a stillness to their souls, a certain kind of density, no animal posesses in quite the same way.

I love seeing tough guys like your dad with cats - it warms my heart!! I believe cats have magical powers, too and I still see glimpses of my cat Bonkers. A few years ago, I had 2 other cats, Itty Bitty and Bebe. Itty Bitty was a more aloof cat and never slept with me but Bebe was the lovey one and she ALWAYS slept on me every night. The inevitable happened and I had to put Bebe to sleep. For the first time that night and only that night, Itty Bitty slept with me in the exact spot Bebe used to sleep. To me, it was a sign that the cats were both trying to comfort me. Now I have Mamma Cat and her daughter, Tiny. They were strays living in the trees around our house.

I love how "helpful" cats are as soon as I want to get some paperwork done or work on my art. They make exceptional paperweights!! :-)

Mystical share alert! My cat used to get very upset when I traveled (sat stubbornly in suitcase, made it impossible to pack, hid when it was time to say goodbye, ignored me when I got home; made sure I felt it). Welp, my psychic (not the predictive kind, more 'checks under the hood' at present-time energetics) told me that cats astral-project and that my cat wanted me to 'invite' him to the hotel beds when I traveled. This would allay his emotional turmoil while we were physically separated. So, I started telling him how he could "meet me at the hotel" when I was packing and that night I'd invite him to the bed and feel that "cat j-======----- (omg, that was the kitty typing those last characters, stomping on the keypad!, leaving it there for real-time witnessing!).. Ok, back to: After I "invited" the cat by mentally 'calling 'to him, I'd feel that "cat jump" on the bed, his weighted steps across my body and eventual settling into the crook of my knees. I did it every night while away, and he'd be all smiles, purrs and leg rubs upon my arrival home. Still to this day! Occasionally I forget to do this if I'm really wiped out from a long day of flights- and it changes the timbre of my arrival home. This is all to say, I also love cats and in more ways than shared here know they're extremely energetic beings who seem to literally teleport and communicate in non-linear ways. I love all you shared here, and the tenderness of your family's connection to kitties is just the sweetest!! What a meowvelous post! :)

Another great piece of writing by my really talented nephew. I have no doubt that cats can project themselves astrally. I am sure this is a work of non- fiction.

So nice to know that seeing one's cats out of the corner of one's eye is not uncommon! What I'm familiar with is the indigenous notion that there is another whole world one glimpses out of the corner of one's eye IF one is open to it. I've seen my cats this way as well, and it's always a delightful experience. This doesn't seem as usual with dogs, but they make their presence felt in other powerful ways; the only dog I've not sensed after her death was a dog who had lived with a woman and her son. Mother died, son fell apart, and the dog and many cats were left alone in the house for three weeks. When Keisha died she obviously returned to her true home.

A lovely essay and further proof that women should have nothing to do with men who don't like cats!
