I lived for a couple years in NYC - decades ago now. But Spring in the city is quite miraculous - especially in Central Park. Thanks for distant view.

You're most welcome and yes, "miraculous" does sum it up in so many ways!

Thanks so much, Jaye! NYC has about a million reputations and manages to live up to all of 'em!

FML we had snow, again, this morning...

Beautiful pics, Mickey! Big city parks give me hope. There's something very civilised about them.

Snow? You just gave me some much-needed perspective because I've been griping about needing heat in the first week of May!

And I concur. Thank heaven they built Central Park before the entire island of Manhattan became a real estate conquest.

because of climate change even in southern GA we had to heat until today. Never had that happen in the 17 years I have been here! We needed NYC clothing until a few hours ago LOL

I’ve been to NYC a number of times, but only to Central Park once. It was August 7, 1997 for the Garth Brooks Live In Central Park concert. It is a very lovely park. I suspect, Mickey, that as an estimated 1M people were in the park that night, there’s a chance you were there as well.

Thank you for the photos, and welcome Spring!

You're most welcome, George! I've seen a few concerts there in my life but I don't think I was in that massive crowd. I trust you had a blast!

My Time in NY never visited the zoo in Central Park 🥴 one winter we visited family in the Bronx I think was Christmas time going back to Brooklyn we got off at Central Park and walked through the snow ⛄️ 🤣 I wish I could share some pictures ( this was about 18 years ago).

Thanks! Central Park has such distinct personalities, depending on the season.

Great pictures. Spring is green in the West but no where near as green as the Northeast.

Thanks, David! Plus, the green really stands out here in contrast with the asphalt.

Around May 15th, about 20 years ago, I saw 22 different warblers in Central Park. Thank Mr. Olmsted for his farsighted wisdom. If only we can do the same for more natural places such that our great grands still have a natural place to explore and enjoy. Apparently 210 species of birds frequent Central Park each year. It's a gift!

Amen to that, Dusti! I've lived in NYC my entire life and have been to Central Park more times than I can calculate. But I still see it as a gift to never take for granted. And yes, the birds there are incredible!

I recorded your talk at MCCNY for Janine's radio show on CFUV. I was so shy but felt very welcomed. 🥰
