He was a zealous deregulator, too, and caused much harm by gutting labour-friendly standards.

Yes, thanks for this, James. I feel it's essential to keep repeating the truth.

Sadly, yes. I think he sincerely tried to do some good in his post-presidency, but the office itself can't be used for anything but captaining a race to the bottom. He fulfilled that purpose.

Yeah and he looks so warm and loving. I always thought he was a good president but learning he was part of the selected by the globalists of the trilateral commison-nope.

His ties to Rockefeller and the Trilateral Commission have been known for forty years. This is the first time you heard this?

My discerning Dad believed he was actually a very poor leader in the presidency & caused (or allowed) ALOT of deaths. I was not old enough to vote yet. It bothered my folks greatly that he used his “born again” status to garner votes from the “Christian” community to “win” the presidency.

Honestly, Mickey Z, I wouldn’t want to be in any of the President’s shoes since after Calvin Coolidge. Sad, isn’t it?

Sad indeed. 😕

Thanks for sharing, San.

Wasn’t Carter also the one who “gave” away the Panama Canal under some crackpot treaty?

Expand full comment

Yep. In 1977, he signed the Panama Canal Treaty and Neutrality Treaty.

Good grief 😫

you only look at who is standing behind him and you know it all. A kissinger puppet just like all the others. He would have made a great preacher though. I heard one of his preachings and the words were fine. But the deeds ?

The only thing I remember in his favor is that he gave up the family business to become president, whereas others kept on going.

Having grown up in South Georgia, it was natural to be rooting for the good ole boy peanut farmer from Plains. But those were the days following Watergate and Vietnam so a seemingly humble Sunday school teacher with liberal sensibilities seemed so much better than LBJ and Tricky Dick.

But what did I know? The Mockingbirds were so effective that we didn’t even realize what the Church investigation was actually telling us. I say it often that I’ve learned more about the world (and myself) over the past three years than all the previous 7 decades. And this includes the understanding that nobody gets in a position of such influence without first approval of those who are truly calling the shots.

But I will give Jimmy credit for calling out the apartheid of the Palestinians, something that put him in hot water with many of his most ardent supporters. Unfortunately that atrocity continues.

passing through the veil, he saw the Devil waiting and said, "You're exactly as I remember you. You haven't changed in all that time." Satan laughed and said, "I remain as you made me."

I believe when Castro opened up Cuba's jails to release the worse murderers & rapists, Carter opened up America's welcoming arms.

I believe Jersey City, NJ, murder & rape statistics increased significantly.

It was suggested, in the newspapers of that time, that many of these jail-released Cuban criminals, (not law-abiding Cubans) settled in Jersey City.

Thanks for this reminder, Paul. I'll have to do some digging to see what I can find.

Well written piece. The picture of him standing next to Kissinger tells the story. Just read the energy between them. Carter was just another puppet but he allowed himself to be one. Our legacy is atrocious.

Thank, Elise! That is precisely why I chose that image. Kissinger has been pulling strings for decades.

An excellent compilation. He also bailed on the Panama Canal, which almost immediately came under the direct control of China. If I am not mistaken, he also broke the unwritten rule of not commenting on the work of your successors. I remember freezing our asses off because he said turn down the thermostats. A real doom and gloom guy.

But, but, but, Jimmy builds houses for poor people through Habitat for Humanity! That should mean something. That should make up for some of the other shit. 🙄
