Mickey, I think we humans are slaves to our natural tendency toward evil. This is why power will always corrupt and absolute power will always corrupt absolutely. If, in the search for Truth, one does not come to that conclusion, he or she will end up enslaved by whatever personal "truth" they settle with. So, if art is found to be the truth itself, one becomes a slave to it. If, instead, the artist is trying to depict Truth through her art, then the Truth (being the muse) guides the artist through all her endeavours. Even if she moves to the wilderness, forsaking the monetary system and the isms, she still has to eat and produce the media of her art in order to produce it. I am thinking (I still haven't got there in 62 years) that is when all (or most of) the shackles come off regardless of how we support ourselves in the world.

If that is the case, AI can be seen as the natural (technically speaking) evolutionary next (final, perhaps) step in the almost universal belief we should make our lives easier or more productive or [insert your favorite tech justification here]. We have given those the primary power through tech we developed ourselves to enslave us... Wow, there is so much more to this. I feel my muse calling me to write some articles. Stay tuned, I need to flesh this out some more.

Oh, one last thing. I liked Alicen's notion (I can't remember who she referenced) that everyone can be a teacher. It harkens back (to me) of the priesthood of believers discussed at length in Hebrews. Under the New Covenant, we have direct access to God through Jesus. This (if we accept it) immediately frees us from the earthly religious hierarchies (religion, politics, science, medicine, high tech...) that want to control and enslave us.

Thank, Brian, for taking the time to listen and comment. It means a lot to me.

I can't reply at length at the moment but I'm absolutely thrilled to hear you being called to write. I look forward to you fleshing out these thoughts into posts and will add just a meager two cents now in advance of that: I don't believe humans have a natural tendency toward evil but we sure are pliable when it comes to the enemy's manipulations.

Thank you again, my friend!
