Great interview, as usual, Mickey! I turned off my iPhone about two weeks ago and turned it on twice since then to see if I was missing anything important. No! I leave it on the counter when I go out. If I'm late for meeting someone, I'll just have to apologize, or do my best to be on time. ;-)
Apart from the addictive aspects of all this, there's the EMF harms, which it seems we haven't even begun to wrap our heads around in a serious way.
I really liked this podcast. You and Alicen had a great point about “The powers that shouldn’t be” using social media devices to train our kids to accept direction without any questions or reluctance. That’s a truly scary thought. By the time these kids are in High School or College they accept whatever their teachers or professors tell them with no argument or reluctance because that’s what they’ve been trained to do by their computers, phones, and IPADS all their lives. Scary, scary, scary.
I love every episode with Alicen! As a conscious parent, I think you guys said what needs to be said. I see kids my daughter’s age that passively sit & watch other kids play on YouTube videos. This always struck me because it’s the same thing as an adult watching another adult having sex, right!? It’s gotta be lighting up the same systems in the brain and conditioning kids for what is 1 click away.
