Very early ultrasounds are likely a factor in autism risk. More risk the earlier they are done, and if the ultrasound device is held over one area too long, or the whole procedure is too long (for the fetus).

I had homebirths with independent midwives - no facility. I didn't want to let myself be forced into a C-sec and that is what the writing on the wall was warning about hospital births. C-sections can mess up breastfeeding success.

That is horrible news to hear that most births are now induced. It is the fetus that triggers delivery not the mother, or the doctor. Both of my babies were three days past the due date.

Thank you for listening and, just as importantly, for sharing about your own experiences. The way you take agency is inspiring.

I wrote the writing on the wall - I was working as a grocery check out person and inventory/order/stock and would get bored during the checkout hours. So I did daily surveys of my customers. Some topic - once about the overhead music - they didn't like it either but the guys in back did. One survey was about prenatal classes - 1. Did you take a delivery class? 2. How did it go? About 25% had C-sections and I didn't want one. That was about the rate at the time, which is why I did a field survey of my own. The rate is even worse now. The thing to remember is that pregnancy is not an illness nor a disease condition in a healthy woman.

There were so many moments in this interview that made my jaw drop. I knew the hospital birth industry was bad, but couldn't have imagined just how sadistic and controlling they've become! Thank you so much MaryLou for sharing this knowledge and reminding us that the power is within us to change the course of this dystopian nightmare. I love you both!

As ALWAYS, thank you, Alicen. As you heard during the interview, my jaw was also hanging. Love you, too!

Mary Lou is my & and my babies’ PCP. She provided some of my prenatal care & inspired me to birth at home which was indescribable & so sacred. The best experience. I learned of Post Woke from her so I am really excited for this episode! I always thought it would be amazing for her to be a guest. Thank you for this, Mickey!!
