I love crows. They're so interesting. I'd love to befriend some of them. Perhaps the large, talkative one was trying to befriend you. Or maybe had some opinions about your Substack?
I could while away hours of time watching and listening to birds, but especially the interactions and conversations of the crows and magpies who visit our yard. Their language is so interesting and I think they're often talking about "us". We're fortunate to enjoy the company of these other souls.
Mickey I can just imagine feeding my backyard birds and being covered in them! Yesterday a wren came in and got on a glue board. Luckily I was able to gently pull its little claws off it.
after the hummers wrens are the smalles birds in the yard, but the loudest for sure. He sits less than 2 yards away in a small tree and sings his heart out! I love these little bitties. And all the others too of course. And when crows and water crows are flying over I answer cro-cro, uh uh, uh uh
Crows and seagulls don't get along well, so some of the noise you're hearing might be them discussing the conditions of armistice and demarcation line.

🤣
Yeah, maybe he was checking that I don't mix up Covid with Corvids!
very smart, too
Indeed! I think we could replace all our, e.g., public health officials with crows. That would be genuinely safe and effective.
🙏
anything would be better than them LOL. I am sure even cats might do a better job!

Thank you, Claire...I relate to all of that! 🙏
Birds are fascinating
Do you have a favorite?
My guilty pleasure is/are pigeons. They're messy, but I like them. I also like chickadees. I can "talk" to them, as, apparently, my grandmother did.
We have so many birds here. Semi-rural. I am using the Merlin app to try to identify the calls
Ah yes, I now remember you talking about pigeons and chickadees on an earlier post I made about pigeons!

Aw, Ingrid, bless you for helping that wren. 💕
