I’ve always loved the raw demo version of “Forever Young” in the video below — believed to be a lullaby written by Bob Dylan for his children.
Considering Dylan’s vast Biblical knowledge, I’ve wondered if he was inspired by Numbers 6:24-26: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Either way, I have a request: Please take just two minutes to mindfully listen while reading the lyrics below the video.
May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
May you stay forever young
May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the light surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
May you stay forever young
May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
And may you stay forever young
May you stay forever young

Thank you in advance!
I have find memories of this song. A friend I sang with for years sang it...occasionally at weddings.
It astounds me that I didn't realize it was Bob Dylan. Apparently I wasn't the fan I thought I was!
