Mickey - one of the things a lot of people don't understand about city life is how many opportunities one gets to simply be kind to "strangers." Most of my close friends live out in the country (outside Toronto) - as I did for many-many years. I think they feel a bit sorry for me, living in Toronto. They needn't! It's got its downsides, of course. But there's so much good about it, too!
That's an excellent point, Janet. I've lived my entire life in NYC with walking as my primary method of transportation. As you say, this positions me to directly help more people than someone who lives in a rural or even suburban setting. From where I stand, even though I've never had the chance to live in a more peaceful setting, I see this as a blessing.
Ah yes. The walking thing. I walk a lot too. Have for many years now. Owned a car all my adult life, actually (until it died last summer) - but walking taught me even when I was a car owner how much always driving everywhere separates us from people. I think a lot of people don't get that.
Posted in our family's Snapchat group!
Thanks, Jaye! Does that mean you just shared my post or that you had already posted that reel for your family? Either way: Yay!
I copied it from you!

Awesome reminder. Yes, Nature's way always works! Thank you.
Bless you, Kathleen! 🙏
What a delight! It reminded me of an old posting I did. 'One day on the streetcar. Being kind.' https://janetmcneill.substack.com/p/one-day-on-the-streetcar (It's short!)
Thanks, Janet! 🙏
