Once upon a time, the Washington Post shared this Associated Press report:
“The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer, and in some places, the seals are finding the water too hot. Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard‐of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Within a few years, it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.”
If any of you claim to remember it, I’ll have to call BS because… it was published on Nov. 2, 1922.
That said, there’s a reasonable chance you do remember this bit of fear-mongering from Al Gore in 2006: He warned that we had only “10 years” to solve the “global‐warming problem” and if world leaders didn’t take “drastic measures” we’d pass the “point of no return” by 2016 and have a “true planetary emergency” on our hands.
Just three years later, in early 2009, James Hansen (then head of NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies) told President Obama that he had “only four years to save the Earth.”
I could go on but if you’re curious, I suggest you type “climate predictions that never happened” into a search engine near you.
Please allow me to clarify: I’m sharing the above info not to take any “side” or to make any group feel superior. As I’ve written before, all across the ideological spectrum, fear rules the day:
While the “left” will cower in the wake of claims about disappearing polar bears or melting glaciers, the “right” will curl up into the fetal position at the mere mention of eating bugs or being targeted by directed energy weapons.
Both groups are being cleverly lied to and they seem to love it. They eat it up and use it as fuel to gain social credit within their impotent echo chambers.
These deceptions are designed to trigger specific responses and render as many of us as possible useless when it comes to creating positive, sustainable change.
However, such manipulation is powerless in the face of independent, critical thinking and solidarity amongst people conditioned to despise each other.
The sooner we develop ears to hear and eyes to see, the sooner we gain freedom from The Fear Matrix™.

Absolute truth! Thank you! I encourage everyone who reads this to share it.
We need critical thinkers, not fearful doubters.
We need to live our lives with confidence in our higher power of love; to ignore the talking heads and be the enlightened spiritual beings in human bodies we truly are.
Darkness and evil are not real; they can’t be measured. They only appear in the absence of light and love.
Live by Christ’s example!
Shine your divine light on the darkness and it will disappear.
Evil is converted to love, by love.
Fear dissolves in the face of truth.
Live and Love, through the Truth!
So much of the mainstream balderdash that gets tossed around has little, if anything, to do with the nominal topic. It's all just affirmation of tribal membership, e.g. Blue must think one way, Red another. The merit of the offered arguments is a distant second, at best. I find it interesting that once people unplug from the Bullshit Industrial Complex, even for a few hours, and discuss things in-person, most of them become more reasonable. A minority consistently prefers self-righteous hysterics, unfortunately. But they are a minority. People do reason once they unplug.
