Thank you so much, Margaret! 😄 Love the article! The full album comes out on August 26th, and given your Alice in Wonderland motif, I know you're gonna love it!
Hi Joe! As Mickey can confirm, I have lived most of my life under a rock and remain blissfully unaware of most pop culture references. That said, I had no idea that the Twilight Zone used similar imagery. The "running from time" idea was mine (inspired by the Wonderland Rabbit), and the stars were added by my wonderful graphic designer Savannah Mobley. So the parallels are merely coincidences -- or perhaps synchronicities ;)
I'm a big believer in synchronicities. I think Jung explained them as arising out of humanity's collective unconscious. Here are some of the symbols from the TZ opening. They definitely evoke falling down the "rabbit hole" into uncharted realms.
OH MY GOD! First of all, yes, I can totally see the similarities you're seeing!
Second of all, that inspired me to look up Rod Serling's natal chart to see if we have anything astrological in common. And we do! I'm a Jyeshtha Rising and he's a Jyeshtha Moon! 😮
Furthermore, my meditations on Jyeshtha nakshatra are what inspired the entire album!!! 🤯 The concept of time, mysteries, madness and such are all concepts that fall within this constellation.
Thank you so much for this missing piece! I'm now going to include it in the documentary I'm releasing as a companion to the album!
I don't know if you've had the chance to watch some of the original TZ episodes. (I think they're on Hulu.) But it's *mandatory* viewing for anyone interested in peeking behind the curtain. Serling dramatized the idea (in a myriad of ways) that all this might be a simulation way before the Wachowskis.
Thank you so much!!! Yer the bess :D

Fabulous work, Alicen! Thanks for being a Badass German (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/are-you-a-good-german-or-a-badass).
I look forward to sharing this in a future article.
You rock, MAA! 🎸
It’s perfect for the article I’m working on right now :-)

I'm looking forward to it!
Meanwhile, I wanted to let you know I just published the article, and I feature your song at the end:
• "Letter to the German Bundestag" (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/letter-to-the-german-bundestag)
Thank you kindly! :D
Nice tribute to Serling.
I just wanna make sure. The cover art has the backdrop from the Twilight Zone?
It has some similarities but Alicen says it's not connected.
