It’s possible that the fear of the number 13 originated at the Last Supper. Judas was the 13th person at the table.
It’s also possible that the connection between Friday and the number 13 originated because the next day was a Friday and that’s when Jesus was crucified.
Since there’s nothing strictly biblical to support these theories, I view the whole “Friday the 13th” scare as yet another example of sinister superstition.
There’s no reason to fear any random day like this. To do so is to assign far more control to the dark powers than they actually have.
The enemy’s strength is built on lies and deception.
We’d all be much better off if we recognized, in full faith, that Fred Rogers had it right when he portrayed King Friday the 13th as a pompous purveyor of pride.
Take evil off the throne and have a good chuckle at its frailty.
