Bruce Lee was a pretty good role model. His ability to reconsider and self-critique was awesome. Both are easy to get wrong. He was disciplined about it and, best of all, able to teach it too.
Our generation (if I may be so assumptive) of 50-60 somethings has been through extreme tech changes wrt movies and music; born into the records era, and radio, and tv. Then the music went to cassette tapes (20+ year run?), then 8 track tapes (5 year run?), then cd's (first they were big, then they were small, they they got big again) (20+ year run) and then back to records with all the previous still floating about , except for maybe the 8 tracks. I still remember some songs as having a 'chunk chunk' of the 8 track switching sides right in the middle of the song....Beyond just being emerging technologies, I do have to wonder if there was not some intention made to break up / break down certain companies, and disrupt the ability of artists to gain traction and make careers. Add to that the endless players that needed to be made, then purchased, then abandoned and bought again. Imagine if we had just left it at records, and then moved on to solve more pressing problems (badda bing badda boom) so to speak. ps-I got rid of my TaiBo tapes along with my player, or I would still be doing Taibo I spose, the problem being when you jump about in the house you really can kick up some deep dust, stuck in the floorboards. best
