Another part of NY was in the news bulletin yesterday and I thought of you and the poor people out there. It said 600 000 were without electricity, too, so I wondered if you would post today. Thankfully it seems you still are on the grid. A few days ago, I also saw the Englishman in Moscow reporting on a tigh-high snowfall in just one day (80 cm, more than 2 1/2 feet). Must be the heating up of the earth!

What stands out to me here isn’t the urgency — it’s the honesty about the gap. That quiet space between people who care and people who act is where winter hits hardest, for humans and animals alike. Sometimes it really does come down to a few more people deciding that “someone else” can be them this time.

How do you think more people could be encouraged to step up during times like this?
