My friend, Joe from Maine, recently sent me an article called “The AMA Said Trust Your Doctor on Smoking” — written by an MD named Kevin Homer.
A few excerpts:
The connection between smoking and lung cancer was recognized early in the century. At the same time, the AMA became increasingly dependent on money generated by tobacco sales.
In 1964, the Surgeon General concluded that cigarette smoking causes lung cancer and other life-limiting health conditions. The next year, a warning label was required on packages of cigarettes. By 1971, the government banned cigarette advertisements on television and radio. Instead of taking the lead against an obvious threat to public health, the AMA asked for time and money to study the effects of tobacco.
Between 1964 and 1976, the AMA received more than $20 million from the tobacco industry to fund research. Instead of using the money for smoking cessation programs, many of the funded studies focused on ways to make a “safer cigarette.”
Reminder: These are the same people and the same industry chanting “safe and effective” for years now.
I know, of course, that most of you are well aware of all this but perhaps this article can be helpful when attempting to wake up others.
Someone once said that the ability to think is God’s gift to you. What you think about is your gift to yourself! Unfortunately we live in a time and place where we are encouraged and reminded to listen to so called experts instead of using discernment and common sense.
I quit smoking 35 years ago. Once finished I realized that the only thing they were good for was to satisfy my craving for them. Nowadays you see people saying they always listen to their doctor. They need to be reminded that these clowns are not experts but rather agents of the sick care industry.
After reading the non-censored medical professionals on Twitter, I'm convinced I'd be better off treating any chronic illness with advice from YouTube videos and Substack posts. They're nasty, heartless, vindictive people, and proud of their willful stupidity.
