A good message and yeah agree. Turn away from all those screens - not just ongoing propaganda and programming, but entrance into the matrix where they hope you'll stay, where 'reality' is presented rather than you - as yourself, in the world - might otherwise experience it directly. Nice. Thanks, Mickey.
Don't empty people have to fill the void of their empty lives with something?
They also need simplicity in solutions in order to be able to feel they "know," which can enable them to feel smart and superior over those who disagree with their pre-programmed "opinions."
Maybe you’ve also found, as I have, that the most deeply interesting people are those who have rejected screens. They don’t know trends in clothing, language, or ideas. And they are very cool for all that.
It is, of course, a choice! Many people seem to not even realize that they have a choice. I sit behind my computer for several hours a day, but it is my mail, newspaper, games, book, and at night, information channel. I watch documentary films about countries I will never be able to visit and animals and nature. It is beyond me how some people can watch endless series of soaps. The only time I watched it was on holiday, where the first in the TV room chose the channel. We went twice a year and it seemed I could still follow! But if you choose, you can learn a lot. There are cooking channels, handicrafts, recognizing bird song etc. online. A whole world of info and people rather watch shows where people betray hurt and kill each other !!!
I can recall my early disillusionment with corporate bullshit and control freaking. At the time, I went through that alone. I wondered if something was badly wrong with me. It took years to find others who shared similar views. Those views exist along a spectrum. Very few people are bootlicking absolutists. Most people want something better and many want to work towards that.
You are spot-on. It's so very, very hard to raise children who aren't screen zombies. My kids don't have smartphones, but all of their friends do. We don't allow screens behind closed doors or in their bedrooms.... but the friends (perfectly nice kids) waltz in, screens in their pockets, and we have no idea what they're watching. I'm so sick of parents who will not do the tough job of parenting. :(

My ex (a lovely guy with whom I am still good friends ) did all the big shows on TV …,I watched how they were all developed but now I don’t watch ANY television with the exception of Tucker Carlson, and ballet or horse videos that I watch with my granddaughter, that’s it. I refuse to watch main stream media. The ideological and cultural subversion makes me sick, especially in the advertisements. I am also a professional photographer and Getty images contributor but stopped after my assignments became “a mixed race couple shopping for Christmas “an LGBT couple, buying groceries” Ad nauseum
The CIA and the War Department are deeply involved in all forms of media, including television, and there would be no television shows now without Big Pharma so that covers the medical garbage.

On that note I am going x-country skiing on the trails I cut last fall and groomed yesterday with my snowshoes.
