“It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine.” (Marcia Angell, 2009)

“The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness.” (Richard Horton, editor of The Lancet, 2015)

This week I read that the medical world is now number One killer. They surpassed all illnesses! The article you mention might be what I read several years ago, where it was stated that large amounts of medical literature are just fiction. They were even listed by country. All from Egypt were fake. Most of the middle East were as well, and even those from Japan. Since I was given so much meds as a kid and then found out totally unnecessary, I doubted all doctors. I went 4 times to the one here in the US and 2 times he was completely wrong. The new one is even worse. She wanted to prescribe me 3 meds I do not need and refused to treat what I went for. Does not give you much confidence does it? Someone mentioned how Dr Pierre Kory was a fake, I saw his interview with Tucker, and think he was like most of us, not realizing how much fake there was, and then being red-pilled when he ran head against the wall like that retired nursing instructor in the UK (Campell I think). After all they too rely on what is available as information. What is real and what is not? I go by C G Jung 'truth is what works for you". Mostly that is what Gramma told me ! the good old stuff ! Honey, elderberry, thyme, onion, garlic !
A major pillar of PMC thinking is the belief—always unquestioned—that the grand abstractions exist only in institutions, never in the actual practice of the abstractions themselves. Thus science is not a process, which anyone can pursue if they know what they're doing, but a proprietary construct that belongs to powerful institutions. They own it, full stop. If you're getting good results, and they are not, you're wrong anyway. Of course in the real world, that's a steaming pile. It can only be maintained by violence and loud bullshit.
