A very recent study of lung tissue obtained from participants after surgery found microplastics in all lung regions — including in the deeper sections.
Researchers found 39 different types of microplastics in 11 of the 13 lung tissue samples.
Microplastic exposure has been shown to cause inflammation, cell death, and DNA damage in laboratory animals and cell cultures.
This has never been seen before and the most common microplastic found was polypropylene.
Hmmm… what could’ve possibly caused this sudden threat to human health? Could there be a reason why we’ve been inhaling polypropylene at an increased rate lately?
