It’s already been seven years since Colin Kaepernick started doing his kneeling stunt. To the best of my memory, this is the first time I’ve ever written about it.
For the record, I have no trouble believing the totalitarian NFL colluded against him. But what I really wanna address is his choice to kneel and why he did so.
Part I: The folly of why Kaepernick kneeled was that BLM was founded and funded on a brazen lie. I wrote about it earlier this year:
Part II: But let’s say cops were actually “hunting” Black people. Let’s say BLM and Kaepernick actually chose a genuine, urgent cause. Why would anyone think kneeling during the national anthem would/could do anything to address this issue (or any issue)?
This is classic “activism” at work. Virtue signaling without a single iota of hope that you’ll see favorable results. Add kneeling to the long list of counterproductive exhibitionism that includes marching, sign-holding, hashtags, profile pic changes, symbolic arrests, and much more.
In other words, while millions of words were written in support or condemnation of Colin Kaepernick, almost no one pointed out the obvious. On the contrary, other virtue signalers gleefully joined in!
I pray that one day soon, sincere folks who want to be part of creating sustainable positive change will recognize that The Powers That Shouldn’t Be™ love when we only choose from their “acceptable” range of demonstration methods.
“Protest beyond the law is not a departure from democracy; it is absolutely essential to it.” (Howard Zinn)

Moral panic has become the favoured marketing tool of authoritarians and grifters.
WWJD - What would Jesus do? (and you're right, overturning tables and whip-scourging miscreants is within the realm) reminds me of another (joke) interpretation:
WWJD = What would Jesus drive?
A Christ-ler.
