Keeping the good in Good Friday
They know not what they do...
“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds, we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
—
For me, He was chastised/For me, He was hated
For me, He was rejected/By a world that He created
Well, I'm hangin' on/To a solid rock
Made before the foundation of the world
And I won't let go, and I can't let go
(Bob Dylan, “Solid Rock”)
After re-reading my Good Friday post from last year, I saw no reason to do anything other than re-share it:
What's "good" about Good Friday?
If you’re someone who believes the story of Christianity, it’s hard to imagine anything “good” about the relentless torture and brutal execution of the Son of God, right? So then, why is it called “Good Friday”?
Blessings to you all…
