RE: doomer shit, he's on target. When I started reading broadly and omnivorously, I soon learned that the Golden Age in the past didn't exist. Different eras had different woes. Sometimes groups of people had it better for a while, and if they were the ones writing contemporary accounts it looked like a Golden Age. Brecht among others sobered me up.
But that doesn't mean we can't have a Golden Age, and it doesn't mean today has to be a bad day. This morning has been pretty good so far. I've got a few small kindnesses planned, some work that needs doing and the skills to do it. The doom can take of itself.
I would like to say a prayer for the 87 year old innocent man senselessly shot and killed by a New York City hoodlum. That man beat the odds to live such a long life but he does not get to see today.
