It's a bit of a tangent, but... Musk and his ilk, along with the people who serve them, operate in much the same way as competent mobsters. They all know each other; if not personally then by reputation. They're all mostly on the same page; whatever their rivalries, they still agree that we should remain powerless. They have ways of doing things that are honed; so anyone drawn from the talent pool gets up to speed quickly. They don't have to persuade each other; just appeal to a narrow self-interest. None of that requires elaborate conspiracies. It's pretty much organic. And a bit of awareness on our part goes a long way to reducing our vulnerability.
People keep looking or hoping for a hero to rescue us or right the ship.
When you consider that we are hoping that someone like Musk will protect our rights and preserve our sovereignty it is a pretty good sign that we have already lost both. Society has been transformed to a collective which is dependent and unaware or unfamiliar with how to exert one’s own influence.
