A reminder of just how deadly the lockdowns are

Nineteen months ago, I wrote an article that should have been enough to raise anyone’s curiosity — if not their rage. I still feel it’s essential for us to comprehend what much of the world is struggling with while others choose to “trust the science.”

Here’s just some of the terrible toll that was exacted on the Third World by deadly and unnecessary pandemic lockdowns — as of January 2021:

• Famine was looming in Yemen, South Sudan, Burkina Faso, and northeastern Nigeria, with 16 other countries slightly behind in that trajectory toward catastrophe.

• During the lockdowns, laborers had no income, and patients couldn’t get medicine. 

• Campaigns to battle malaria, polio, AIDS, and vitamin A deficiency were left in disarray and it’s unclear if any have recovered.

• The disruption of such programs has tangible impacts, e.g. campaigns against female genital mutilation may result in two million more girls enduring genital cutting. 

• Reduced access to contraception may lead to 15 million unintended pregnancies.

• Some 13 million additional girls may be forced into child marriages. 

• The World Bank says an additional 72 million children may be pushed into illiteracy.

• About 10,000 additional children are dying each month from hunger.

According to a study published in the Nature Research Journal, by mid-2022 (read: now), COVID-19 would result in:

• An additional 9.3 million wasted and 2.6 million stunted children

• 2.1 million maternal anemia cases

• 2.1 million children born to low body mass index (BMI) women

• $29.7 billion (in U.S. dollars) of future productivity losses due to excess stunting and child mortality

• At least 168,000 additional child-deaths

Add to all of this: the incalculable mental health issues, the virtual destruction of small businesses, the rampant loss of freedom on every corner of the planet, and so much more.

Because most of the “industrialized world” — including some of you reading this right now — chose to believe the air could kill you, human beings are still dying from real dangers.

Let it sink in: In order for the masses to feel safe from an imaginary threat, there are pre-teen girls being mutilated and married off to adult men right now.

Yet, through it all, WE still have the power to turn this around. It has to start with a) an acceptance that you’ve been hoodwinked, b) an awareness that we are under attack, and c) a willingness to take risks in the name of global self-defense.

Does “now or never” mean anything to you?

If you can’t generate the ambition to save yourself, how about doing it for the 10,000 additional children who are dying from preventable causes every single month?
