Indeed. Why is everyone in such a hurry? My ex used to laugh, he said they are all in a hurry to go to work and dread to go home, and I am slow to go to work and hurry rather, to get away from it! At least one thing he was right about LOL.

Lots and lots of Catholic churches in NYC! Are there also lots of protestant churches?

Good morning, Ingrid. It's hard to find the exact numbers, but there are at least 500 Catholic churches in NYC, nearly as many mosques, and hundreds of synagogues. As for Protestant churches, if you count all the many denominations, the number of churches would be in the thousands.

I mostly photograph Catholic churches because they're the ones that are usually open between Masses or services. I also, in general, prefer their aesthetic.

WOW! Yes, I agree - the older Catholic churches (and the Orthodox) are pieces of art. Here in small town GA none of the churches is very pretty, I think our Episcopal is the only one with all wood inside. It is 100+ years old. the only Catholic is only about 10 years old and in theatre form, they reused the glass from the small old church downtown. I get chicken skin when going in there. Don't like it at all! Almost no churches are open here, all locked until an hour before service. Of course NYC has millions of people and our whole county has 50 000 LOL. No comparing there! Thank you for sharing big town pics and beautiful church interiors!

Thank you again, and yes, I forgot to mention the beautiful Orthodox churches!

There's a similar thing I experience when driving. I'll be going at the speed limit in the right lane, and people will cut me off just to cut me off. As if I'm driving slow by obeying the speed limit. Where are they rushing to? What have they accomplished by getting one car length ahead?

I hear you, bestie. It feels like life energy being corrupted and redirected in counterproductive ways.

Well said, Mickey - Freedom begins with our mind, internally, and takes a lot of inner work... Thanks for the reminders!
